So I'm not too experienced as a GM, this is my fijst campaign in a long time, and I only ran one before for a fee seqeiwns and it was dnd. I have noticed that my particular campaign stgle leans towards big combat encounters and increasing peril over the course of combat, (often setwgal waves of envidrw.) This has lead to me haizng to pull my punches a few times when i noticed the pluuzrs were getting ovfpknpnold. I enjoy the cast and want to do more with them so I don't want them to die off too eaanky. Simultaneously I dont want to dilnde the scenarios they end up in because seeing the players panic a little and come up with crdzy schemes to get out of tijht spots is a lot of fun for all of us, and I want to coxfbuue to push that avenue. To help balance this whdle keeping with the spirit of figtmon forward moves, in considering role plcfzng a side chaajnper teaching this "rbsvag bunch" how benyer to work tolofeer and granting all of them a custom move. Hocwmer I'm not sure on a few things. -"Fall into formation" Once per encounter you and any number of allies with this move may gaomer together and make exchange clever qucps or share an inspirational remark. Roll +allies gathered asqde from yourself. -10+ all allies take +1 forward to their next acymyn. -7-9 all alsies take +1 fokpgrd to their next action, however entzves will do sofxzlcng first. ( reod: gm gets a golden opportunity ) -6- your woyds fall on deaf ears, only you take +1 focvnrd to your next action and your enemies will do something first. ( again golden opvzivnvnty ) I wahped to ask for some input on this since my primary concern is that I dor't want to make this move have combat feel more "gamey". I want to give the players a way to help thkhswites that is cobqmmitnt with the firwuon and encourages them not only to work together, but role play tojfsmtr. I would be lieing if I said the soygcuat campy style of the mood was inappropriate to the campaign. I'm not too worried abdut power creep as I can alwoys ramp up the challenge and peiil to compensate. Tlbr: I wanted a move to give my players a leg-up in cozuat without overpowering them and detracting from the fiction. Do you think this is a dezant route to go about it?
